Update on casting news of the Twilight sequel, New Moon. According to the BBC, actor Jamie Campbell-Bower (of RockNRolla and Sweeney Todd fame) has said that he will be portraying the character of Caius, leader of the Volturi. In case someone is still ignorant enough not to know who the Volturi are, here’s what Wikipedia.org has to say: “The Volturi are an organized coven of vampires in the Twilight series of young adult novels. They enforce the laws of the vampire world. They “invite” other vampires with powerful gifts to join their coven. They are the largest, and most powerful Coven of vampires in the series.” I haven’t read New Moon, but does the wide-eyed kid from the photo look like he could be the leader of such a powerful organization?

New Star Trek Images

Here’s nine whole new images from the upcoming Star Trek that’s been taken from trading cards released by Paramount. The pictures are courtesy of MTV. Leave your comments on what you think of these brand new photos, especially the one of the Orion slave girl. It’s good to see the makers have a chosen a girl with some curves (not to mention other assets) rather than a stick-thin model type. And isn’t the Romulan warbird just the most awesome thing?

New Star Trek Poster

Paramount has just released another poster for the upcoming Star Trek movie, and this one shows the famous ship partially blurred-out. The creators obviously wanted to convey the great speed with which the ship was moving, although the image appears a bit too blurry for most people to figure out what’s actually going on! It looks like one of those bad photos people take of what they claim to be UFOs. We expected a lot better than this.

Ang Lee is back with a new movie about the Woodstock festival and the hippies that populate it, named “Taking Woodstock”. The film is based on Elliot Tiber and Tom Monte’s book of the same name. To fans of the versatile Asian director, this will come as no surprise as Lee is constantly looking to challenge himself and explore a wide range of stories. The trailer that follows is the first one that’s been released. The film tells the true story of a boy who hosts the first Woodstock festival in his parent’s backyard back in 1969, without realizing that he was kick-starting an event that would define a generation.

Spring 1936 – in a working-class district in the north of Paris, a neighborhood that probably had a name once but that everyone now simply calls the Faubourg. At the top of the hill, a view over Paris to one side and, to the other, the burgeoning suburbs of the city. A small square, a few shops, lopsided buildings, cobbled streets and the peeling facade of the neighborhood music hall, the Chansonia.
