2011: Hollywood’s Disappointing Year So Far

Posted by Sami Rahman On October - 7 - 2011

2011 has been outrageous for Hollywood. I suspect there has not been a year when there was no movie to write home about business wise or critical acclaim wise till November. If you want to remember last good movies released, i do not know how far back you are going to go but I have to go back to The Rebound and No Strings Attached. One of them definitely does not fall entirely on 2011.  Read the rest of this entry »

Must Watch Under-Rated Movies of All Time-1

Frankie and Johnny

Do you want to curse yourself after going to hell as a movie lover? Do you want to tell God that you are rotting in hell for watching movies and yet you did not watch this “almost classic” of Al Pacino? Then take out some mere coins from your wallet and buy a DVD of Frankie and Johnny. Why it is a classic? Just because you have not watched a love story like this. You can never imagine two mega figures like Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer playing the roles of two extremely poor persons and discovering love and romance in their own disbelieving ways. Hence, you have to watch this one. The flick has an uncanny knack of making you believe in love when you lose it.

The Longest Yard

The father of a guy movie. There are very few movies made in the sports genre which offer this much fun. Adam Sandler is phenomenal in the film and so are the rest of the big line of cast from the wrestling world including Goldberg, Steve Austin, The Great Khali, and other ensemble cast fromHollywoodand the music world. Adam plays the role of a American football player who is suspended for fixing matches and have a bitch wife. He is locked in a dreaded prison for driving drunk and tearing his wife’s car in to pieces. It was a Bentley :p He was asked to guide the jail guards’ team for the upcoming season. He builds a team of prisoners to play the guards. And that is how things get very ugly. All comes down to a match between the guards and the prisoners. The soundtrack of the movie is a joy for ears. A must watch for all guys and girls also on a blue day to bright your day up.

First Teaser Posters for Stallone’s The Expendables

Posted by michaeljoejackson On March - 18 - 2010

Even more new posters! Given this is ShoWest week, we expected a whole bunch of them to arrive, but one new set of posters (we haven’t seen before) that I really wanted to feature are the new official teaser posters for Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables. The first one comes from IGN and is the official teaser poster that Lionsgate just debuted for the movie.

The second one comes from showfloor at ShoWest and is actually a bit more badass than the first one. There are whole helluvalot of guns on the first one and a gnarly, badass Stallone on the second one. I really dig the design of these and I hope everyone else likes them, too.

The Expendables is both written and directed by legendary action actor and filmmaker Sylvester Stallone, who has also directed Paradise Alley, Rocky 2, 3, and 4, as well as the most recent Rambo movie. This is a Nu Image / Millennium Films production produced by Avi Lerner and Les Weldon. Lionsgate is bringing The Expendables to theaters starting on August 20th, 2010 later this year. We first featured a trailer for this back in October of last year but it got pulled and we’ve been waiting to see the real one since.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Final Poster

Posted by michaeljoejackson On March - 11 - 2010

Along with the premiere of the final trailer last week, Disney has also debuted what looks to be the final official poster for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time over on UGO today. Last July we got to see the first two magazine-like posters for Prince of Persia, which seemed a bit too stylish for the general public to appreciate. But now they’ve released a typical action-movie poster with cheesier poses from the main actors. To be honest, it’s not that impressive of a poster, it’s just kind of bland and boring. Oh and in related news, Prince of Persia will also be showing in IMAX worldwide this summer (via Collider). Check it out below!

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is directed by English director Mike Newell, of Donnie Brasco, Pushing Tin, Mona Lisa Smile, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire previously. The screenplay was co-written by Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard (The Uninvited, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice) and the story was developed by Jordan Mechner, one of the original creators of the video game. Disney will be bringing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time to theaters everywhere starting on May 28th, 2010 this summer.

Universal Pictures has sent over a new hi-res pics from their upcoming film Green Zone starring Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, Amy Ryan, Brendan Gleeson, Jason Isaacs and Khalid Abdalla.

First with the Bourne trilogy Paul show us his great skills to film movies how he move the camera, what a good director. Then he show us Flight 93 were he finally show us that he is one of the greatest directors alive, plus he was nominated to an academy by this movie.

Now lets talk about the cast, Matt Damon show that he is very good actor he performs beautifully his character, and Jason Isacs also made a good performance but nos as well as Matt, the rest of the cast was great, very strong performances.

The Film in general is amazing the action sequences do not stay back and give a highly support to the movie one of the greatest advantages of the movie.

Damon and director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, United 93) re-team for their latest electrifying thriller in Green Zone, a film set in the chaotic early days of the Iraqi War when no one could be trusted and every decision could detonate unforeseen consequences.

During the U.S.-led occupation of Baghdad in 2003, Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller (Damon) and his team of Army inspectors were dispatched to find weapons of mass destruction believed to be stockpiled in the Iraqi desert. Rocketing from one booby-trapped and treacherous site to the next, the men search for deadly chemical agents but stumble instead upon an elaborate cover-up that inverts the purpose of their mission.

Spun by operatives with intersecting agendas, Miller must hunt through covert and faulty intelligence hidden on foreign soil for answers that will either clear a rogue regime or escalate a war in an unstable region. And at this blistering time and in this combustible place, he will find the most elusive weapon of all is the truth.
