Evil Dead Franchise News
Great news for fans of the Evil Dead franchise. Sam Raimi has been hinting for a while now that he would be interested to kick-start the classic franchise again. Raimi’s upcoming Drag Me To Hell is along the same lines, and shows that there’s still hope for fans that Raimi might return to making what really made him famous.
Sam had this to say to IGN during an early screening of Drag Me, “I have talked with my partners about having a young director come in and remake Evil Dead,” Raimi revealed to IGN. “That film was made in 16mm on a shoestring budget and blown up to 35mm. The visual effects are crumby, it was done in mono, not even stereo, let alone 5.1. What you could do with it now would be so much better. I think if you had a new director using the full power of 35mm and 5.1 sound, you could really make a pretty socko presentation. It was always meant for the big screen, but never really seen on the big screen.”
Though there are no real promises, it does give us hope.
Warner Bros debuted the full-length theatrical trailer for Chris Nolan’s Inception in theaters in front of Iron Man 2 a few days back. There aren’t many words to describe how incredibly epic and amazing this looks, but beautiful and stunning and mesmerizing are a few that fit best. Watching this trailer, you will agree that Inception is the most anticipated movie this summer. This just looks so phenomenal.

Inception is both written and directed by acclaimed Oscar nominated British filmmaker Christopher Nolan, of Memento, Insomnia, Batman Begins, The Prestige and The Dark Knight. Nolan previously co-wrote the scripts for Memento, Batman Begins, The Prestige, and The Dark Knight with his brother Jonathan Nolan. Warner Bros is bringing Inception to theaters starting on July 16th this summer.
