McG Talks About Terminator 5 and 20,000 Leagues
Even though Terminator Salvation fizzled at the box office this summer, McG has revealed to both IGN and RadioFree that he’s already getting ready to make a sequel to the film. About a possible plot, McG says, “So the idea is to play with one of the tried and true rules of the franchise – time travel – and introduce it in this picture. I don’t want to share too much, but let’s just say it’s very, very likely that John Connor is going to end up running through rooms like this where he knows something that none of us know. And I think that is a platform for great storytelling.”
McG is also concurrently working on a re-telling of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea with Braveheart screenwriter Randall Wallace currently writing the script. The director has even mentioned that he would want Sam Worthington to play Captain Nemo in the film.
Natalie Portman will be playing the role of Jane Foster, the love interest of the title character in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor. Her casting has officially been confirmed by Marvel yesterday (July 13). The film will co-star Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki. The synopsis of the film from FirstShowing.net:
This epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
