Transformers 2 Has The Highest Wednesday Opening Ever

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen opened in theaters across the US at midnight yesterday. The film easily had the best opening day ever for a Wednesday release at the US box office. It easily overtook Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix‘ $44.2 million opening day record, grossing above $55 million. The initial headcount at midnight was huge, as audiences poured into theaters in droves. According to Variety, Revenge of the Fallen had the third biggest opening night ever, grossing a whopping $16 million.
