Transformers 2 Makes Big Money In The UK & Japan
While people in America have been holding their breath and waiting for the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, the lucky British and Japaneses are already watching it. The film was released in both countries on June 19, and over the weekend made a whopping $20 million! The film grossed $14.1 million in the UK alone, which is better than the opening week-end of Spider-Man 2, and close to that of The Dark Knight. So now it’s official: Revenge is going the biggest baddest movie of Summer 2009.
Natalie Portman will be playing the role of Jane Foster, the love interest of the title character in Kenneth Branagh’s Thor. Her casting has officially been confirmed by Marvel yesterday (July 13). The film will co-star Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Tom Hiddleston as the villain Loki. The synopsis of the film from FirstShowing.net:
